Happy Mother's Day

SC035/12
Wow, I finally get a chance to play!  My chores are all done and the house is somewhat back to normal after a very busy weekend and I don’t feel the slightest guilt at all!

Anyways, Sunny Challenges this week below and the theme is “Mother”.

I am going to give this to my mother-in-law seeing that she is so fond of cats . . . not!  But I think it will bring a smile to her face, knowing that our cat isn’t the most angelic cat, but rather, very naughty!

I coloured my flowers using my chalks and blender pen.

I sometimes like these sketch challenges because it allows me to use my non-SU stamps.  And Fluffles does remind me of my own mischievous cat, Casper!

I don’t know if you can see it but on the Wisteria Wonder strip, I stamped the background with the round stamp from My Friend as it reminded me of the dandelion weed when it is in the seed mode.

When I finished my card, and went back to look at the sketch, I realized that my white cs should have been a little bit shorter, but oh well, I can’t fix it once it has been adhered to my mine card.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps:  Stampendous – Flowers Fluffles, Messages for Mom, My Friend

Paper:    Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Wisteria Wonder

Ink:        Basic Black, Wisteria Wonder

Accessories:  Dotted embossing folder, primas, chalks, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Pinking Hearts Border punch

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful rest of the week!

Masculine Birthday

My upline, Susan Paterson, is hosting her monthly shoebox swap and I always like to participate.  This month, the theme is masculine.  Now how many of you have problems with creating masculine cards?  I sure do, but I managed to get one created.  I always seem to revert back to my old-time favourite, Lovely As a Tree, as I truly believe this stamp set is a classic!
I stamped the oak tree in Early Espresso and also used the direct to paper technique with Early Espresso on the edges to give it a weathered look.  Layered it onto basic black and popped it up on pop ups to give it some dimensions.
I layered the Mocha Morning DSP onto black cardstock and then onto the Soft Suede.  I have to admit that I will be sorry to see this DSP go – but it gives me a chance to stock up on it before it retires!

I stamped the Happy Birthday in gold and layered it with Soft Suede.  Added my brads to either side and mounted it onto the card.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps:  Loveley as a Tree, Happiest Birthday Ever (hostess)

Paper:    Basic black, Mocha Morning DSP, Whisper White, Soft Suede

Ink:                Early Espresso, Gold

Accessories:  Vintage Brads

I hope you’ve enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed creating it.  I will post the rest of the swaps as soon as I receive them.

Thanks for stopping by,

~ Pat

MIA! . . .

Sorry for the lack of posts . . .
Two weeks ago, my mother-in-law had a bad fall.  For legality reasons, I can’t post any details, but you can imagine how my time has been eaten up with almost daily visits to the hospital and cooking, etc.
I asked my sister if she would create a little vase with my some flowers for her because I knew that these would last longer than real flowers – don’t get me wrong, we did buy her a potted plant, and she has enjoyed them so far, but because today is Easter and she would be spending it alone, I am heading up the hospital with this little surprise along with some Easter treats, of course.
I don’t have any instructions for you to copy these beautiful paper flowers, but as soon as my sis teaches me this, I’ll be happy to share with you.
You can see here she added a ribbon rose – isn’t it beautiful?

Here is a close up of the daisy flower:

And last but not least, the other rose:
I hope to be back on line more often and back to crafting because I surely miss it!

Thanks for stopping by,

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!
It has been a long time since I’ve done any dry embossing.  This is one of my all-time favourite dies for Easter from Lasting Impressions. A long time ago, I purchased a computer software that coordinates with the Lasting Impressions template and you can create your own colours therefore skipping the need colour in your dry-embossed features.  It makes easy peasy!

Here is a close up of the layers.

Here is the recipe:

Stamps:  Hero Arts

Accessories:  Lasting Impressions Embossing Template; Lasting Impressions Software

Paper:    Lasting Impressions

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Thanks for stopping by,

~ Pat
