With or without sprinkles?

I made this card for my niece’s birthday who is turning 18, but is still very young at heart!  Some like sprinkles on their ice cream, some do not.  What do you like?  I like them either way!  Can't be too fussy when it comes to treats!  I embossed the ice cream part using SU’s new smelly embossing powder and the cherry with the cherry embossing powder.  Not only does it look yummy, it smells yummy too!  I hope they come out with more flavours! I would love to hear from you what you would prefer!

Ink:         Basic Black, Early Expresson, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:        Adorning Accents Edgelits, mini beads (non SU)

More Corrugated Card

I have a corrugated card to show you!  My cyber friend, Kathy Pikwo did a fabulous job taking up the challenge!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day Rod!

I wanted to make a special card my DH and didn’t want anything that was too cheesy.  Thanks to Frances Martin, I created this card for my wonderful husband.

Using only three punches, I was able to create these fishies.  I think they are absolutely adorable!  I hope he likes it too!

I ran the Pool Party through the Swirls Cuttlebug Embossing folder, sponged it with Lucky Limemade to give it that ocean look.

Punched my fishies out using the Ornament punch – you need to cut the bulby top off. 

The fins are made using the 5-Petal flower – the back fin is two petals, and the top and bottom fins are just one petal each.

The eyes are made using the Owl Builder punch – the little circle, the larger circle (x2).

I punched out the hearts and used the Crystal Effects to give it a shiny effect and popped them up with pop-ups (this acts as the bubbles).

In Your Element - Week 2

Week 2 of “In Your Element” I decided to add stickers and let the kids finish their Paper Bag Album  - they were each to bring a few pictures to add to their album and they were also to describe their pictures – well that was pretty difficult considering that most of them didn’t know how to spell or print!  But they did enjoy the stickers!  I cannot post photos of the children on my blog as I do not have permission from their parents and the school, but I am sure you can imagine the mess I had when they were all done!

After the children had finished their album, I also showed them how to make a Valentine Bookworm bookmark!  Again, glue sticks are their favourite! 

Using my new Framelits Dies – Hearts Collection, I cut out the hearts and the bookmark base for the children and they went to town with the glue!

Aren't these stinkin cute?  here is a closer look a the antennas.

These are samples of my bookmarks – and will be given to my DS teacher, the Principal, the Secretary and the two with bow ties will be for my boys.

In Your Element - Week 1

A few weeks ago, I posted about not being able to keep up with my posts as I figured I had taken on more than I can handle.  Well, my story is that my youngest DS’ school was hosting a program called “In Your Element”.  This is a four week program where parents have an opportunity to teach the children what they knew most about, or being passionate about, etc.  Some of the subjects were:  golf, water polo, knitting, taking and putting together an engine, drawing / sketching, etc. 

Well I submitted that I would teach the kids how to create a paper bag album.  I was thrilled to learn that 14 children had signed up as well as 8 of them were boys!  Who would have thunk!

Well to my surprise, I learned on the first day of my class, the majority of my students were kindergarteners! 

Hmm, try and explain to five-year olds what a paper bag album was without your sample (I had forgotten that at home). 

Eventually, they understood what a paper bag album was (I think), but luckily, I had pre-cut everything and all they had to do was glue.

This is my sample to show the children.  It is not quite complete, as I have more photos and facts to add.
