My Very First Blog Candy

Wow, I can't believe I have had over 1000 visitors - or it be just me racking up the counter. None the less, I appreciate everyone who visits my blog and if you'd like to help spread the word about my blog candy, please feel free to.
For some reason, I have ended up with two copies of Just Cards VIII. Rather than tossing it, I thought I would share it along with this little set of Mini-Themed stamps. It is brand new and none of the stamps have seen ink.
To be entered into the random drawing for this Blog Candy, please submit a comment to this post and tell me how you found my blog and if you have visited more than once before. Please add your entry number (comment numbers + 1). One comment per person. If you see the number is messed up, please don’t post again or the numbers will just get messed up even more.

Even if this is your first visit, I’m very happy to have you and certainly hope you’ll come back often! I will accept comments until 7pm Pacific time Friday June 6th. The winner will be posted sometime after that time (maybe late) that evening with the help of random.org.

Sassy Cat

This is my Sassy Cat card for Kelly Swan's swap from the Stamp Shack - "Sassy Sayings".

The first thing that comes to my mind when thinking "sassy" is red! I am not sure why, to me red is sassy!

This is a tri-fold card or a "z" fold card. In order to create this look, you take a normal size A4 card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") and fold in a half. You then fold the front half over in half again (I hope that this makes sense).

I stamped the my Sour Puss Cat (Ann-ticipations) in Black onto whisper white. I coloured her toe nails using a glitter gel pen. The sunglasses was from a SU set - Totally Cool (retired). I stamped the sunglasses in real red and cut out and then pop dotted them onto Sour Puss. I then matted that piece on to black cs.

I mounted the DS paper onto the front of my card. Stapled a red gingham ribbon to the corner and added a string of pearls to my kitty.

On the inside of the card, I stamped Sour Puss in Sahara Sand and the sentiment "A Year Older, A Lot Cuter" by Penny Black onto white cs and then mounted it on the inside of the black card.

I really like my Sour Puss Kitty and am glad that I am able to use it in this swap. Hope everyone enjoys as much as I do! I am sad that it is Sunday again, meaning another week of work!

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Ann-ticipations; Penny Black, SU - Totally Cool
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, My Mind's Eye DS Paper
Ink: Black, Real Red, Sahara Sand

Other: String of Pearls, Glitter Gel Pen, Red Gingham Ribbon, Staple

Noel

Ok, my Christmas Cards for March!

I found this DS paper amongs my stash and thought I needed to use it. In fact, I believe I need to use DS paper more often as it helps fill in my cards and I don't have to think as hard (he,he)!

This card is 9"x4" in size. I cut the Winter Words background approximately 5" long by 4" wide and mounted onto my cardstock. I then cut the blue striped DS paper approximately 3" long and mounted it to the botto my card. I cut a Night of Navy strip approximatel 1.25" wide. added three silver eyelets and stamped "Noel" from Many Merry Messages in White Pigment Inkd.

I stamped Rudy Leaping (Stampendous) in black ink and then coloured in his scarf with bashful blue marker and his nose in real red.

I mounted a thin piece of Night of Navy strip to the back, and then mounted that piece onto a piece of striped paper with pop dots and then matted onto a Night of Navy piece. The piece is then pop dotted onto the Winter Words background part.

I believe I am now officially caught up in my yearly Christmas Cards! Woo hoo! Now I've got to start on my June Cards!

Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Stampendous; Many Merry Messages
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Unknown DS Paper
Ink: Black
Other: Silver Eyelets, Bashful Blue Marker, Real Red Marker

Thanks for stopping by!!

Seasons Greetings!

Here is my Christmas Card for April. It is fairly simple, yet elegant. I am quite pleased with the layout.

For the sprig, I used the stamp from Hero Arts - Fanciful Filaments and stamped it in Night of Navy.

The tiny star was from Amuse. I stamped that in Silver Pigment Ink and embossed in silver embossing powder.

"Seasons Greetings" is from Many Merry Messages from Stamping up. Stamped in silver pigment ink and then embossed in silver embossing powder onto Night of Navy. It then layered it onto silver. Tied a ribbon around the strip and adhere it the main card front. That's it! Easy peasy.
Here is the recipe:

Stamps: Many Merry Messages; Amuse; Hero Arts
Paper: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Silver
Ink: Night of Navy, Silver Pigment Ink
Other: Silver Embossing Powder; Ribbon

Happy Sunday and thanks for stopping by!!

Stamp Camp Projects

Here is a picture of my stamp camp project that will be taking place on Thursday, May 29, 2008. In this stamp camp, you will be making 3 projects for $25 - a feminine card, a masculine card and a 3-D item. All of the projects feature the Afternoon Tea DS paper from the Occasions Mini (p.8).

Below are individual pictures of each project.

Bloomin' Beautiful Card

Pocket Card

Insert of the Pocket Card - here I used the Spotlighting Technique - you stamp the image twice and highlight by layering it.

This is the front of my accordion album.

Here is what the inside looks like. I messed up and should have put the brads on first before covering the backside, but oh well, I could always cover up the back side with a photo.

May Christmas Cards

, Here is my May Christmas Cards. I am so behind in my challenge from the Stamp Shack to make my monthly Christmas Cards - now I need to catch up with March and April cards.

These cards are 3"x6" in size as I had wanted to make the most use of my 12"x 12" cardstock (that way I got 4 cards out of one cardstock).

I originally intended this to be a black and white card, but it didn't turn out that way. I stamped the snowman onto white cardstock, coloured the heart with a red marker and watercoloured the hat using Basic Grey. Then using my pastels and a q-tip, I coloured in the sky with Night of Navy as I had wanted to make a nite scene. I added the glitter to the falling snowflake. I also highlighted the snowman around the inside of his belly and his face just to give him a realistic look - not all snowmen are pure white are they?

I mounted the snowman front onto a black panel and pop dot onto my main card. I had a little snowflake punch and decided to use it (this must be the first time I've touched it since I bought it a while back). This just gives it a bit funness and dimension to my card.

I then stamped my verse from Many Merry Messages at the bottom.

Here is the recipe:
Stamps: Stampendous; Many Merry Messages
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Black
Other: Markers, Pastels, Stickles, Mini Snowflake Punch
Happy Thursday! Thanks for stopping by!!

File Box

Thanks to the instructions on Sylvia Maybie's blog, I created this little file box. Actually this is my second attempt as I realized that when I finished the first one, there was a mistake and I just couldn't post something knowing that there was a mistake - so I had to create another one. It's ok though, because I believe I could really use another box in stamp room.

This is just the front of the box. I wanted to make a more feminine box so I used my corner rounder to make my scalloped edge and then I used my 1/16" hole punch to make the holes to give it a lacy look and added the purely pomegranite and pink chiffon ribbon.

Here is the top of the box. I stamped 3 flowers using from Embrace Life set onto DS paper and cut out. I adhered a piece of pink mulberry paper undneath popped up the last flower (top one). I then used my Diamonds Stickles to give it a bit of bling.

This is the inside of my file box. Using my Round Tab punch, I punched out 8 tabs and adhered them using repositioning Mono as I wanted to be able to change the tags as necessary - you'll note that the last tag is blank, but I will add to it as I find more images file away. I didn't want my magnet to show when the box is opened, so I glued it to the inside of my box. Works like a charm!

This is just what the undecorated box look like.

Here is the recipe:
Stamps: Embrace Life, Brushtroke Alphabet (retired)
Paper: Ginger Blossum, River Rock, Groovy Guava, Rose Red, Mulberry Paper
Ink: Rose Red
Other: Corner Round Punch, Round Tab Punch, Crafter's Tool Kit, Scor-Pal, Stickles

Happy Saturday! I'm happy because I actually
get to some stamping time to myself!

Thanks for stopping by!!
