Decorated Memo Pads

So here is what I came up with. Although the DP is retired from SU, I really like the bright and cheery feeling you get from it.

This is fairly simple to figure out the dimensions for the cover. My memo pads dimensions were 2.75" x 11".

I cut the RR cs to 6" x 11". Scored at 2-7/8" and 3-1/8" lenghthwise. I covered the top of the memo pad with the matching DS paper as I did on the front. The dimensions for the little topper was 2.75" x 2". I used the scallop punch to give it a bit of decoration and adhered it to the front and to the back of the memo pad. Then using sticky strips, stick the memo pad to the inside cover.

Stamped the cheeries onto white scrap and punched out using the 1-1/4" circle punch and the circle scallop punch in RR.

Tie a ribbon around it and voila! You got yourself a decorated memo pad! You could also put a magnet to the back of the memo pad if you did not want to cover it with cs. If you want to ambitious, you could also stamp each page of the memo pads.

These memo pads will form part of a gift for the teachers for Easter along with some matching cards which I have yet to make. Stay tuned for more!

Never assume!

This is what happens when you assume that everybody else knows what you are talking about! I am the person that usually orders office supplies for our office and I wanted three full size scratch pads cut into three equal parts. Well they got the cutting part correct, but rather than 3 pads, I received 3 packages of 5 pads! Oh well, good thing it wasn't very expensive! My motto -- never assume! Always ask questions!

I wanted these pads to use as a shopping list pad. I find that some pads aren't big enough to list all your groceries. You are probably wondering why in the heck do I need such a big piece of paper for my grocery list. Well, to be honest, I generally do one big shop every 3-4 weeks with little shops in between for my fresh produce and dairy.

I will be back to show you what I've done with these pads shortly.

Thank You Card

This is a card I made for Susan Paterson's shoe box swap. Using Pale Plum was definitely out of my comfort zone. This is not a colour that I would normally choose - I still have a full package of cardstock. But at least, this got me to inking some stamps that were not even mounted! A fairly simple card to duplicate. You`ve gotta love how SU brought in markers to match the new In Colours! I coloured the flowers using my Rich Razzleberry marker and the stemp using Old Olive -- give it a huff and stamp onto your cardstock. I coloured the sentiment as well as the little scribble on the bottom using the Old Olive marker. I then pierced the opposite corners and mounted my cs onto Rich Razzleberry cs, and then mounted the image using pop ups. The sentiment can be easily changed to `Happy Birthday`. Hope you enjoy it!

MIA! . . .

Hi everyone,

I do apologize for not posting for quite some time! While life seems to take its own action, I have also been dealing with some health issues that has been ongoing since my motor vehicle accident. As this is still in litigation, I cannot disclose what I have been going through, and I am postive that most of you don't really want to listen to someone whine about their discomforts and aches and pains.

In loving memory of . . .

of my 22 year old cat, Sushi. She sadly passed away today. I believe she suffered a stroke sometime during the day as when I came home she was laying on the floor unable to move. This is a picture of her waiting for breakfast. She will be sadly missed!
